Bedwetting Home Remedies

What is Bedwetting?

Bedwetting is unconscious urination during sleep. It is also known as Enuresis or nighttime incontinence. Bedwetting is not harming physically but it create discomforting situation for parents. So normally the parents wake up every night to check their child whether a kid wants to urinate. It has two categories, primary enuresis and secondary enuresis. In primary enuresis the patient has never had dry nights but in secondary enuresis bedwetting is after a break of at least six months. Generally it is seen among kids and it disappear children grow up, but in some cases it extends for some time. There are so many reasons include for bedwetting such as imbalance of hormone, defects in the nervous system, defect in urinary tract.

Causes of Bedwetting

There are many common causes for bedwetting and it can be cured through proper medication and some practices. The main cause for bedwetting is due to small urinary bladder for that it is not able to hold all the urine produced during night. The other causes are due to defect in urinary tract, hormonal imbalance, abnormality of spinal cord, some diseases such as urinary tract infection, sickle cell anemia or epilepsy, constipation, diabetes, immaturity of the nervous system, deep sleep, some genetic factors.

Symptoms of Bedwetting

The most common symptom of bedwetting is uncontrolled bedwetting while sleeping and some other symptoms of bedwetting are, cloudy pinkish urine, burning sensation during urinating, child never been able to dry through out the night at the age of 6 or 7 years, wetting during the whole day etc.

Home remedies for Bedwetting

Give six to eight oz of cranberry juice to your child one hour before going to bed. It is a good home remedy for Bedwetting.

By using some effective herbs like causticum, lycopodium, ursi, corn silk and pulsatilla bedwetting can be cured.

One of the best home remedy for bedwetting is drinking of herbal tea made from herbs like oak bark, horsetail, wormwood or bearberry.

Avoid some fruit juices like apple, orange, grape, pineapple as well as avoid sweets, fruits, chocolate, and meat.

Avoid taking water before sleeping.

Eat two tea spoon of walnut haves and one tea spoon of raisins before sleeping. It is the best remedy for Bedwetting.

Massage inner thigh of your child with St. John's wort oil regularly. It also an effective cure of Bedwetting.

It is better to avoid such allergy causing foods like corn, soy, wheat, dairy products, tomatoes and eggs.

Take a cup of milk and boil it by putting crushed dry dates (about 4 to 5) and have it while going to sleep. It's really worked out.

Healthy diet is very essential for curing bedwetting. Consume parsley and cinnamon bark daily. Also include fresh food on your diet like green vegetable, leafy vegetable, brown rice, magnesium and calcium rich food.
