Home Remedies for Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is otherwise known as eye flu or pink eye. It is an irritation in the eye and a very thin membrane covering the front of the eye. So it is also called as sore eye. It is a very common eye problem or eye disease which easily spread from person to person by direct eye contact. Also it is spread through air. It generally attack to one eye and spread to the next. Sometimes it can be very serious condition for damaging the eyes.

Symptoms of Conjunctivitis

The common symptoms of conjunctivitis are you will feel a chronic irritation in the eye ball and inner part of the eye lids, the color of the eye turn into red, water is secretion from the eye, formation of pus in the severe condition. At the time of sleeping eye lashes are stick together and very difficult to open the eyes.

Causes of Conjunctivitis

The several causes of Conjunctivitis are direct eye contact with infected person, bacteria, virus, and some allergies, congestion, polluted and unhealthy environment, due to some sexual transmitted disease, eyestrain.

Home Remedies for Conjunctivitis

Some of the useful home remedies for conjunctivitis are as follows.

Mix 200ml of spinach juice with 300 ml of carrot juice and take it daily. It is very much effective for conjunctivitis.

Consume vitamin A and B2 foods such as milk, almonds, butter, pumpkin, tomatoes.

Avoid starchy and sugary foods like potatoes, jams, sugar, meats, too much salt that causes conjunctivitis.

Add two teaspoons of honey in gooseberry juice and take it twice a day.

Put one drop of castor oil on eyes. It is the simple treatment for conjunctivitis.

Wash you eyes with the water by putting dried coriander leaves. It helps to reduce pain.

One of the natural treatments for eye flu is clean your eyes with elderberry blossom tea.

Turmeric water is another natural home remedy for pink eye. With a cup of cooked water put two teaspoons of turmeric powder and use it for your eyes.

Make solution by adding one tea spoons of baking soda with two cup of water and use this solution for washing you eyes. This gives very comfort for eyes.

For reducing the pain, irritation and redness of eye clean the affected portion of your eye with boil fennel seeds.
