Home Remedies for Dandruff

There are many causes of dandruff, including a mildew infection of the scalp or hormone differences. Dandruff is not a hair problem, but a skin problem. The shedding and irritation are the result of an over creation of a substance called sebum from the glands in the scalp. These glands are usually restless because of terribly dry hair. Hair shampoos available in the market for the treatment of dandruff and strong medications to control it, however, may provide a temporary relief but they do not do anything to address the underlying disorder such as dryness and poor health of the scalp. These kinds of dandruff shampoos and well-built drugs destroy the scalp's delicate balance of water and oil, which irritated the glands.

Dandruff is not at all serious, but it can be upsetting, particularly as your child gets older. Although dandruff cannot be prevented if your child's scalp is oily, it can be controlled.
