Home Remedies for Dark Circles Under Eyes

Dark circles under the eyes are referred as bags under the eyes. These dark circles below the eyes make us look ill and very exhausted. These dark circles are apparently obvious and annoying as it cannot be covered up. Moreover, getting rid of dark circles beneath the eyes is a bane to many people. Numerous factors contribute to the increase of these dark circles and many more things worsen them. Dark circles below the eyes are not a great cause for medical concern. Yet, it is true that fatigue is not the only reason to have dark circles. Instead, nasal congestion is also one of the common reasons for the veins to your nose widens and becomes darker. Some experience this due to eyelid swelling during sleep. This swelling creates shadows below your eyes. Dark circles result due to persistent skin conditions. Dark circles are also hereditary in certain families. People who smoke also experience dark circles. Lack of vitamin k in the regular diet, sleep and irregularities in the adrenal glands lead to dark circles as it is associated with stress which turns causing dark circles.

Home Remedies for Dark Circles Under Eyes

Home remedies for removing the dark circles from under eye are:

Applying peeled and grated potato overnight for a minimal period of three times a week will help in treating dark circles.

Dip cotton pads in cucumber juice and place it on your eyes for 15 minutes. This gives a cooling effect as well as relaxes your eyes. This is one of the common as well as effective home remedies for dark circles.

Dark circles can be totally eliminated by doing pranayam for minimum five minutes daily.

Almond oil is of immense help. Massaging almond oil at bed time for two weeks will show the difference in reducing the dark circles.

Pressing the index finger of your palm is recommended for eyesight to remove dark circles.

Completely covering your eyes with cucumber slices helps you in getting rid of the dark circles.

Dip cotton pads in rose water and keep it below the eyes for 5-10 minutes.

Drinking more water is effective as it purifies the blood and reduces the dark circles.

Dip cotton pads in chilled water and keep it also for 5-10 minutes on the eyes.

Taking diet rich food in vegetables and fruits and avoiding reading until late night by lying down reduces the dark circles.

Applying equal parts of lime juice and tomato mixture for half an hour after washing your face in the morning reduces dark circles.

Keep hot as well as cold compresses for 10 minutes and apply one teaspoon of a mixture of almond oil and lime juice on the dark circles every night prior to going to bed. This is one of the best home remedies for dark circles.

Applying the paste of turmeric powder and pineapple juice for dark circles is effective in reducing it.
