Home Remedies for Fever

Fever is viral infection and it is complicated with other diseases. There are many types of fever. If you are having continuous fever over a period of time then the temperature should be regularly taken and marked on a temperature chart which helps in diagnosis.

Type of Fever

Constant or continuous fever, when the temperature remains high and varies not more than two degree Fahrenheit between night and morning, e.g. in typhoid, fever, and pneumonia.

Remittent fever: The temperature varies more than two degree Fahrenheit between morning and evening but does not come down to normal, e.g. septicemia.

Intermittent fever: The temperature varies from normal or subnormal to high fever and back at regular intervals. The intervals may be a few hours or up to three days. This is called swinging temperature, e.g. malaria.

Relapsing fever is one in which periods of fever are followed by one or two days of normal temperature.

Inverse fever is one which is higher in the morning than in the evening.

Irregular fever is one which is not like any of the above types.

Fever ends in one of two ways:

By Crisis, when the temperature falls suddenly to normal and does not rise again and By Lysis, when the fall is gradual.
