Home Remedies for Pimples

Pimples are a name for variety of skin eruptions ranging from whiteheads and blackheads to solid red bumps and pustules. Pimples are of large and painful. The pimples in the skin which are connected to hair follicles secrete an oily material which normally softens and lubricates the skin. But these do not become active till puberty. Under the influence of hormones released of puberty, these glands burst into activity, excreting the oil up through the follicle on to the skin surface and causing the face, especially the nose, to become shiny. This problem is caused when the outlet of the gland gets plugged with a lump of oil and dead cells. Bacteria act upon it and further aggravate the process. The free fatty acids and other substances produced by these bacteria cause irritation to the surrounding skin. A sluggish system can be a cause of cellulite as well as constipation, which is not only uncomfortable and inconvenient, but nearly always causes pimples. The dryness in winters also causes pimples.

To improve one's complexion, apply a paste of garbanzo bean powder mixed with the cream of fresh cow's milk, every day.

Apply aloe vera juice on the affected skin areas to get relief from pimples.

Steaming the face is often the quickest method for encouraging the pores to yield their hardened contents. Face steamers can be had for this purpose, but wanting one, a chafing-dish over an alcohol burner or a large bowl of boiling water can be made to accomplish the work. Bend the face over it so the palms of the hands can support the head, and envelop head and basin in a light shawl or a large towel. One of the foregoing ointments should be rubbed into the skin before steaming, which should continue till free perspiration is induced. Wipe the face gently with a soft linen cloth so as to remove all exuded matter.
