Home Remedies for Puffy Eyes

The causes of puffy eyes are lack of sleep, genetic defect, a very high blood pressure, stress and intake of lots of salt. The symptoms of puffy eyes are swollen eyelids, itching in the eyes, puffing of the eyelids, redness of the eye region and also difficulty in opening or closing the eyes. These symptoms can occur either in one eye or both. Puffy eyes are generally cured by cooling the temperature of the eye region. Though the best option for curing puffy eyes would be consulting a doctor immediately, there are a wide range of home remedies that offer immense relief from puffy eyes. They are not only cost effective but effective in the long run as well.

Puffy Eyes Treatment and Home Remedies

There are various treatment offered for the curing of puffy eyes among which only a few are prominent.

Washing the face with ice cold water is an excellent method of treating puffy eyes.

Regular sleep is essential for the prevention as well as curing of puffy eyes.

Intake of lots of water is very important as it clears the system.

Two tea bags moistened in water and chilled in the refrigerator work out magic in allaying earache. These teabags are placed over the closed eyelids to cool them for some time.

Eye creams that contain Vitamin E and aloe also facilitate the treatment of puffy eyes.

One should avoid rubbing his eye if he is being pestered with puffy eyes. Rubbing one's eyes only temporarily relieves the itching sensation. On the contrary, its long term effect is the vice versa of our intention as it facilitates the spread of this disease.

Cucumber and potato are nature's steadfast allies as long as eradicating puffy eyes is concerned. A small slice of raw cucumber or potato is blend finely. The excess juice is strained to get a pulp. A cup of basil tea mixed with this tea is kept to freeze by pouring it in an ice tray. These ice cubes are miraculously effective while curing puffy eyes.
