Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptoms

Our body needs a very small amount of B12 and normally we get it from our daily diet. It seldom happens that someone comes up with deficiency of vitamin B12. When the deficiency happens then there are certain B12 deficiency symptoms which can be identified in the particular person. In this discussion, I will tell you all of those symptoms and will also tell you the solution to the B12 deficiency symptoms. Vitamin B12 is not found in vegetables and this is the reason that people who are vegetarian and do not include meat in their diet can be at risk of B12 deficiency.

The deficiency of vitamin B12 affects almost every cell of the blood but mostly it affects the areas where these cells multiply like blood-forming -tissues of the bone marrow and in the gastro-intestinal tract. In other vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms, you can have neurological disorder like numbness in hands and feet. In other severe conditions, this can lead you towards mood disorders, anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, night terror, fatigue, weakness, nausea, constipation, flatulence (gas), loss of appetite and weight. All of these are the symptoms of B12 deficiency. Anemia is one of the first symptoms that your body is not getting enough supply of B12.

Now with all the above dangerous B12 deficiency symptoms, solution is also very important. In most general solution, folic acid is very important which can treat your anemia. Folic acid, pyridoxine (vitamin B6), and vitamin B12 supplementation can help you a lot in reducing all the difficulties which you can face due to the deficiency of B12. The intake of folic acid should not exceed 1000 micro gram per day because if you took more than this then, it will trigger the effects of excess of vitamin B12. Diet is another important thing to get B12 naturally. B12 is normally found in meats, poultry products like eggs, fish and other similar things. Especially if you are vegetarian then, you should consider getting B12 supplements to make up the deficiency of B12 because there is almost zero b12 in vegetables.

From the above discussion, one thing is proved that it is very rare to have deficiency of vitamin B12 but when you get into this problem then, the results can be dangerous so you should always include the food items mentioned above to lower the chances of vitamin B12 deficiency especially if you are a vegetarian.
